Classes, Workshops, Sit and Stitch

Class/Workshop payment in full required to secure your place and must be paid at least 2 weeks prior to class/workshop. Samples for most workshops/classes are available to view at the shop.

Canterbury Fence Class
Canterbury Fence Quilt This class will teach the Canterbury Fence quilt. It is structured to give the absolute beginner a good basic understanding of the use of the rotary cutter, cutting mat and how to use the quarter inch foot for accurate piecing. Requirements listing available from the shop.

2 x 2hrs sessions, bookings essential. Cost $50.00.

Crazy Patch Class
This class shows one way of using up our scraps - Crazy Patch. Requirements listing available from the shop. There is a sample quilt on display at the shop to provide an idea as to the types of projects achievable with this technique.

1 x 2hr session, bookings essential. Cost $50.00.
Monday 16th April 7.00pm - 9.00pm.
Celtic Rose Table Runner
Celtic Rose Table Runner This project will introduce you to bias applique and the 'unders and overs' of Celtic knotwork which can be sewn by hand or on the machine. This is a one day workshop, the requirements listing will be available two weeks prior to workshop.

Workshop Cost $75.00 (includes Pattern).
Tuesday 21st February 9.30am for a 10am start and will finish at approximately 4pm.
Stack and Whack Kaleidoscope
Kaleidoscope Quilt This technique can be used to create wonderful pinwheels, fans, hexagons or octagons. As each stack is opened, a variety of beautiful designs is revealed. Exciting and fun!!! Requirements listing will be available two weeks prior to workshop.

Origami Block and Folded Flower
Origami Block and Flower This beautiful folded technique is a bit tricky but well worth the effort to achieve wonderful surprising dimensional blocks, which can be incorporated into a quilt, wall hanging, table centre, etc. Requirements listing will be available two weeks prior to workshop.

Tuesday April 17th, 9.30am for a 10am start and will finish at 12.30pm
Mystery Quilt
This surprising quilt can be achieved with as few as three fabrics. Simple blocks which make up into a lovely modern quilt. No photo (that would be cheating!). Requirements listing available 2 weeks prior to workshop

Bring along a project you are currently working on and enjoy the company. Have a cuppa and make some new friends.

Some people find this is a great opportunity to baste a quilt on the classroom tables, much better than crawling around on the floor at home!

Incorporated into the Thursday evening Sit and Stitch will be a Dear Jane Group. If you have started this quilt, or want to start it, then come along and join in the fun. Some of us started a long time ago and need to be motivated to finish it. This is just what we need, nothing like peer group pressure !!
